OXFORD GARDENS - London
Completed: 2017
Extent: Refurbishment of derelict existing building and addition of a new extension. Converted into 3 apartments.
The Oxford Gardens property is in the Ladbroke Grove area of Kensington and Chelsea, London.
The project included the complete refurbishment of the existing building which was in a poor condition due to several years of water ingress, previous break-ins and being unoccupied for some time. The existing building had previously been subdivided into several dwellings with internal partitions splitting the original main rooms.
During the refurbishment and 3 storey extension to the rear, the proportions of the main rooms were returned; the existing cornice, skirting and shutter features restored and the house was separated into three self- contained apartments. The front and rear gardens were updated, with new gates and railings to the front boundary.
The materials chosen for the extension were selected from those on the existing building and surrounding properties.
